The Business Development & Alliances team is responsible for helping accelerate the growth and monetization of Matterport by identifying, executing and managing partnerships and strategic initiatives in collaboration with product and other cross-functional teams.
Matterport is looking to hire a Senior Manager of New Business Development to play a critical role in developing and executing a partnership strategy focused on driving adoption and usage of our new products and services within key vertical markets. Our future business development teammate will be responsible for identifying, growing, and managing high-impact partnerships in the United States, while working closely with our international business development teammates to further scale strategy and partnerships globally.
The position can be remote while our headquarters are in Sunnyvale, California.
This position requires 50% travel, both domestically and internationally, during normal times, not during the pandemic.
-Identify, validate and incubate areas of potential development and growth of the Matterport partnerships within high priority and new vertical markets where we have potentially strong product/market fit
-Build an understanding of emerging use cases for our new business areas and partner/customer needs through research, networked relationships, interactions with partners, and internal teams
-Iteratively test and refine potential go-to-market approaches for value proposition messaging, pricing structures, use cases, customer support models, etc.Identify and source the initial partner pipeline, plot the potential partner heat-map, developing proposal materials, contributing to partner calls and customer meetings
-Synthesize and summarize use case insights for the sales, marketing, and leadership teams.
-Work internally as a subject matter expert (SME), driving input and best practices with the global organization as we build roadmaps and execute strategies to increase market share
-Cultivate, close, and grow partnerships with key ecosystem companies, early adopter partners, and industry players
-Structure and successfully negotiate to close partnerships with meaningful impact and measurable results
-Be a trusted advisor with our commercial partners by deeply understanding their business and aligning their needs and Matterport’s
-Deliver the best partner experience by working internally with cross-departmental teams, such as Customer Success, Marketing, and Support
-Be the voice of our partners: streamline the communication between our partners and our internal teams to hit goals and win together
-BS/BA degree in a technically related field; MBA or a JD is a plus.
-5+ years of business development experience at enterprise SaaS companies, with experience working directly with senior leaders internally and external partners.
-Technical background or technical acumen for understanding how 3D technology and data are leveraged to deliver capabilities and value to enable products and services.
-Experience in 3D, AR/VR, data areas a plus.
-Comfortable with ambiguity and adept at solving problems creatively. Can quickly pivot and adjust to evolving priorities.
-Proven ability to operate in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment, providing thought leadership and market context to drive consensus and reach key decisions.
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to build strategy, frameworks around, and optimize partnerships using a metrics-driven approach.
-Demonstrated experience in drafting term sheets and negotiating complex, multi-faceted, and sometimes first-in-kind partnerships.
-Ability to financially model and project returns on new initiatives and efforts.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
-Strong personal initiative with proven ability to execute with little supervision and adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
